ABOUT

  • This fest seeks to encourage the creation of more WayV-centric fanworks. We hope to gather writers, artists and readers (old and new) and form a WayV rpf/rps community. As long as you love WayV and are excited to create or celebrate fan creations, this fest is for you!

  • Fanworks will focus on ships involving at least one current WayV member (Kun, Ten, Winwin, Xiaojun, Hendery or Yangyang). Gen fic with at least one WayV member as a central character are also welcome.

  • Round 2 will be a themed round - it will still be prompt-and-claim / self-prompting, but each fic will be inspired by a song involving a WayV member. This includes: any song in the WayV discography, any NCT U songs involving at least one WayV member (e.g. Rain Day) collabs and features (e.g. Stardust), and solo works (e.g. Nightwalker).

RULES

  • Each fic must involve at least one current WayV member as the main character. Persons from other groups outside of WayV are more than welcome as long as one person who is in WayV remains the main focus.

  • Anything goes - as long as you tag appropriately!

  • We understand that life happens and sometimes you cannot complete your work. Please let us know as soon as possible so we can free up your prompt. If we do not receive a response from you after multiple attempts to contact you, we may release your claimed prompt.

TIMELINE

  • Prompting opens: 1 February

  • Prompting closes: 15 February

  • Prompt archive opens: 17 February onwards

  • Claiming + self-prompting open: 24 February onwards

  • 1st check-in: 30 March

FAQ

1. What do you mean by a prompt must be 'inspired' by a song involving a WayV member?
We use the word 'inspired' very loosely. The prompt/self-prompt can be based on a song's concept, MV/performance video, lyrics, or even just the general vibe. The song the prompt/self-prompt is based on must also involve a WayV member (these include WayV songs, NCT U songs, solo songs, and collabs/features). Go wild with your imagination!

2. Can I claim multiple prompts?
We are excited you want to contribute multiple works! Please finish your first claim, submit and then you're free to claim another.

3. Is there a minimum word count for fics?
There is a minimum word count of 1,000 words.

4. Can I submit an ongoing work?
Completed works strongly encouraged, but chaptered or ongoing works are also welcome as long as the chapter(s) meets the minimum word count of 1,000 words.

5. Can I self-prompt?
Yes! If you intend to submit a self-prompted work, there will be a section in the prompt claiming form that will be released on the same day as claiming, just for self-prompts. Please fill out the same when the time comes and we will email you to confirm your participation.

6. Can I write/draw a ship with someone not in WayV?
As long as one of the persons in your ship is in WayV, then yes! We are open to cross-fandom works.

7. Can I submit a prequel or sequel to a work I have already published?
As this is an anonymous fest, this is permitted so long as it’s not already published before the fest, or you don’t add it to your series on your author profile prior to reveals.

8. How do I submit my art to the fest?
We will send further instructions later. However, we will likely ask you to post directly to your X/Twitter account, and we will thereafter include it in the postings.

9. How will the fics be posted? Do I need an ao3 account?
When submissions are open, we will be sending an email with instructions on how to submit to our ao3 collection along with a Google Form for you to fill out. Once submitted, your fic will be added to our ao3 collection, and fics will be posted in batches during the posting period with the writers appearing anonymously. The writers of the submitted fics will then be announced on our X/Twitter account during reveals.If you do not have an ao3 account already, or face difficulties in making one, please reach out to us at [email protected] for assistance.
